Lynne Peirce or “Nona” as she was affectionately known by her grandchildren was a lifelong visitor to the Lake Sunapee region, a graduate of Colby Junior (Colby-Sawyer) College, and a long-time summer resident who loved spending time at the lake with family and friends.
To those that knew her, Nona was an amazing mother, grandmother, wife, and friend. Her smile was radiant, her positive spirit infectious, and her soul joyful and forever young. Nona was active in the community, an avid golfer and tennis player who also loved to laugh, read, cook, play games, and entertain visiting guests from far and wide.
Nona was beloved by so many and absolutely adored children. She cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. Nona would have been so happy to know that a playground is being built in her memory and that the children of Sunapee (residents and visitors alike) will have a special place to gather, play, learn, laugh, and grow.
On July 4th, 2008 Lynne was diagnosed with a Grade IV Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM). It was an inoperable bilateral tumor located across her Frontal Lobes. Six weeks later, on August 15, our beloved Lynne passed away peacefully in her bed at Sunapee surrounded by her husband and three children. We are so grateful to all of you who shared your words or sent Lynne and our family your loving energy – all of which served as a powerful beacon of hope and a staff of support and comfort. God Bless you all.
